Default 4 Wheel drive switches

Just bought my first Blazer. 2001. Think I'm going to really like it. I do have a question about the 4 WD switches. I have the 4 button with the Auto 4x4. Both the 2 Hi and the Auto 4x4 buttons are lit and can't get the auto 4x4 light to go out. The owners manual says the 4 Wd will only kick when slippage is detected when in this mode but says that something is still engaged and will decrease gas mileage. Any advice will be appreciated as I am new to this. Thanks.

Only one light should ever be on at a time. So something is wrong with the 4x4 system. Could be the switch, TCCM, Encoder motor, or the transfer case itself. Maybe even with the front axle engagement.

Does it feel like it's in 2wd or 4wd while driving?

Can't really tell. Not sure how to find out other than jacking up all 4 wheels or putting it on a hoist. Any suggestions?

On loose gravel only rear wheels spin so I guess its not in 4 wd but I'm still wondering if something is engaged and why the auto 4x4 button is still lit. Bad switch maybe?
