4WD Hub Assembly replacement

Default 4WD Hub Assembly replacement

I've done these 1 piece units before on other cars so I have a handle on it..
Can you tell me the Torque of the Axle Nut and te back three Bolts that attach the Assembly, What size Bolt Head and can I get to all three with and impact gun or Rachet or do I need a wrench for at least one of them?

Symptoms. With Tire off the ground, All feels tight when pushing and pulling on the tires. BUT on turns, I feel a metallic growl. My guess is the Bearing is starting to go.

Torque values are posted in several other threads along with the bolt sizes. There is a pretty good how-to in the Tech Article (DIY) section if I remember correctly.

I doubt you will be able to get an impact on the 3 attaching bolts. The one up top is a tight fit. I just use a 1/2" ratchet on them and they have always come out just fine.

I keep forgetting about the Tech section I have a shortcut that brings me to 2nd Gen area and sometimes, like now I move to the Drivetrain section.
There's enough room for a 1/2" dive ratchet, that's a Plus.

you can use a impact on the 3 bolts but its tricky. I think i used a 3/8 impact with an extension and a swivel impact socket. I can be done but not usually with your normal socket set

A 3/8" impact would definitely make it easier to fit in. I need to get me one of those.
