Have you considered using a posi loc? and for more experienced blazer owners does it eleminate this problem. I just boaght my truck and to get it into 4x4 I push the 4hi button(blinks) and then pull the posi lock cable and it locks in(light solid). Not sure if I can eleminate using the factory push puttons or not.

Other option is to put the axle shaft and tube from a bravada, it replaces your current 2 piece axle shaft, no need for cable, and you can loose all that vacuum actuator crap. That is my plan when I can get one.

I'll have to research that one.

I have considered the posi lock cable too. Sounds mighty tempting.
