Default 4x4

So I got my fuse replaced for my 4x4 a week ago and today I turn on my car and the service 4x4 light comes on, and my car felt as if it was driving funny. Can your Car be in 4 wheel drive even if the light says 2 wheel hi??? Also whenever I try to shift my car from 4 wheel hi to 2 wheel hi, it never shifts and my gears stop working and i have to put my car in park and turn it off for it to shift back. And when i put it in park it makes a grinding sound- is this normal???....................... anxious for help. Thanks

Default RE: 4x4

I think that you've got a 2000 Blazer Trailblazer edition. Is that correct??? If so, you should also have the Auto4wd option. As such, the only way to properly diagnose a malfunction in the transfercase controls is with a Tech2 or equivalent scan tool. The system is only accessible through OBD2 diagnsotics and is manufacturer specific, meaning that generic scan tools will not be able to access this system.
