4x4 - lights up, front axle no power
ORIGINAL: RCarp48
Mine does the same thing and I used to hear buzzing but not anymore when I hit the button. My mechanic said the motors done. The motor should make a buzz if the vaccum actuator is good. Just my two sense.

What I am trying to do right now is replace the vac switch...
btw anyone have any advice on getting that sucker back in on the tcase? I have spent over an hour trying to feeling my way back in, but nothing.
Alright, here is an update, and I really need some input now.
I replaced the switch, hooked everything back up and got a vac. AND the actuator is now engaging the front diff.
I think I know why the plugged the system.
When you drive, specifically turning the wheel, the diff is making a clunk/thump noise and you feel like your going over a speed bump and the acceleration drops down. Its not coming from the transfer case, does not feel like its binding.
My buddy thinks it is the racer and the diff bearing. I have an exploded view of the diff printed out, if you refer to it we think its numbers 33-35 for the right side and 50-51?
He took some diff fluid out and took a look, and there are metal shavings in it. What do you guys think?
If we can figure out the part thats going, hopefully someone can chime in otherwise we will have to drop the diff at his shop and open it to see what went. I would like to tally up the parts though and see the cost, it might come down that a junk yard diff might be cheaper parts wise.
Thanks!
