Default 72 k 5 4x4 Front shackle issue

Redoing springs and suspension rubber. Bought replacement parts from LMC. Having an issue figuring out install of grommets, etc in frame hole for front spring shackle. Knocked out rotted grommet and rusty inner bolt sleeve. The new grommets seem to sit out too far. The bolt barely peeks out of the shackle plate.

Does the mushroom head seat partly in the hole? Tried to press in with no success.

Was there originally an outer metal sleeve? Can’t tell visually if one in hole.

Any assistance/advice appreciated.

ps the second photo has the grommet pulled out slightly.

Where's the metal sleeve that goes through the bushings? I don't see it in the pictures. The bolt should not tighten down against rubber. It kinda looks to me like those are the wrong parts. They almost look like spring bushings, not hanger bushings.

If they are wrong, I would talk to Offroad Design about getting the right ones. I'm not affiliated with them in any way, but I've bought a bunch of stuff from them over the years, and they really are experts on older Chevys. And they'll actually take the time to talk to you on the phone.

Default Thanks.

Thanks!! I do have the interior sleeves, just not in photos. The LMC diagram leaves something to be desired and call them was of no help (nice but did I not know anything). I’ll give the place you
suggest a call.
