86' K5 Hubs
I have an '86 K5 Blazer lifted 6in with 35"s on it and a few weeks ago I had the wheels off and found major play in the hubs. I am a pretty mechanical guy but never done axles before. I had a buddy of mine over the other day and we started pulling the one side apart and it was a mess in there. I need to pull the rest of it apart when his Dad is home to help, but has anyone ever pulled one apart before? Thanks for any input lol
They are pretty easy. Having the proper 4wd hub socket makes it A LOT easier. You'll find two bearings, an inner & outer. The races are in the hub itself and need to be hammered out and new ones pressed in.
THIS PAGE runs down through a complete break down. The Dana-44 & GM Corp-10 bolt front steering axles are VERY similar so those pictures will help you out a lot.
