88 S10 4x4 Front end axel removal
I am trying to repair my son's 1988 S10 4X4 blazer the problem is that we were initially going to swap it over to a 2 wheel drive and put a 350 4 bolt main in it. because of this fact i removed some of the bolts that hold the front end in place to pull everything out but the cross member and steering components I have gotten the two plates that have the 10 bolts on each side that connect the front axel to the drive gears for the front wheels so the front end is loose, all the bolts that hold the main part of the front axel have been removed and the axel is just sitting in there but i cannot figure out how to actually pull it out of the truck. At the moment the motor is all that's installed. The transmission is removed from the vehicle and the motor is installed but only held in by the mounts right now. is there some special way this thing has to be lifted or twisted to actually get it out of the truck? I have tried several things and nothing seems to work hence i am here hoping someone can help.

So you are removing the entire front differential assembly?
fyi... you will need to install the "wheel" end of the cv shafts back into each hub and tighten them or else you will ruin the unit bearings the first time you drive it.
