Default 98 4x4 gear ratio

I really wish this blazer was 2WD but its not so... Anyone upgrade the gear ratio in the rear to get faster acceleration? If so where do I buy the parts at?

Don't think 4x4s can go fast, look up sand drags or mud boggers.

Any parts store or catalog like jegs has gears. There is nothing special about a 4x4 vs a 2wd but 4x4s have to have the front and rear gears match ratios. Many street rods and cars run 4.11s and 3.73s, common gears in 4x4s also.

sweet im not sure how to go about ordering the gears for it though. I just got paid today so i purchased a ported throttle body and the 3"blocks w/ T keys. next I want to do a nice cam and the gears. Last time I was on JEGS I seen Gears but it didnt specify front or rear or is it all the same? 4.10 in this thing would be nice! had em in my old car and it really woke her *** up

4.10 was a factory option. Unless you know how and have the tools to set them up I would just swap axles. If you had all of that I doubt you would be asking this.

There is a difference in front and rear. You tell them what it is when ordering. A gear swap isn't something you can do in your driveway with basic hand tools.

Helllll no! I was going to take it to my mechanic to install them. Only time I would install gears in my chevy would be the day I decided I didnt want it to drive anymore. I found a site that sold the 4.10 GM replacement gears it said for a 7.5" rear is that the correct one sir?

Without knowing your truck I can't say what rearend it has. There was 3 different ones and I'm not gonna be the one that tells you yes or no and have you spending a few hundred to find out its the wrong size.
