I'm not so sure on the ticking noise may be some sort of relay or something for your abs or it may just be your abs but as for your 4wd I have a 99 Blazer and I had the same problem, look under your hood there should be a vaccum ball mounted to the hood make sue it's there with the vaccum hose attatched if not find the dangling hose and plug it up with a bolt or a screw. There is also a small vaccum module bolted under a lip by the cowl panel around the center of the truck that should have a vaccum hose running into it make sure that the hose(s) is attatched,1 other thing that you can check and this I would check last because it is under your battery is your front differential actuator you will have to remove your battery and the battery tray to access it but once your there make sure that there are not tears, cracks, or dry rott on the diaphram if so you need to replace it, also check to make sure all of your hoses are ok. Now I did replace my 4WD switch and that did help with the light issue.

Thanks for the information i will check it out and go from there.I got to looking on ebay for modules and came to find out the ticking noise is coming from the transfer case module under the passenger kick panel. by chance would you know if that has something to do with the cruise and the abs also. thank you

the tccm is supposed to be on the passenger side (transfer case control module)
