4wd problems wont engage

4wd problems wont engage

i have a 98 blazer and the 4wl or 4wh wont engage. i put the truck in nuetral and push the 4wl and 4wh buttons and i hear it click in but the truck doesnt drive in 4wd. the light for the 4wd stays on but doesnt actually drive in 4wheel. Please help its hard driving 2wheel in this snow.

is the click you hear the switch clicking or the trasnfer case clicking into gear?

its the 4wd switch and the transfer case making the clicking noise. but i have to click the 4wd button a couple of times before i hear the transfer case click.
