Default ABS Control Module Question

I have a 2000 Blazer 4x4, 4DR, 4.3 V6, and according to my mechanic, I am looking for an ABS control module that sits in the top of the engine compartment, next to the fuse box and the brake fluid resevoir. An aftermarket version of this part apparently does not exist, so I've been looking at used parts. Here's the problem: On my vehicle, the top of the control module is silver and metal, however it's my understanding that many of the parts that are available (even those coming from Blazers of the same model year) are black and plastic on top. Neither I nor my mechanic know if that matters or if the units are interchangeable, and I really don't care to waste money on a part that doesn't work. Does anybody know if I need to get one that is exactly like mine or if one that is all black will also work?

Check out ModuleMaster.com. They can rebuild the Kelsey Hayes 325 module, but not the 310 or Series 30. Although... I think the series 30 is the one with the metal cover on it...

Yeah, I'm sure I need it. What led me to go to my mechanic was the control unit was messing up and causing the ABS pump to run continuously, even when the brakes were not applied and even when the vehicle was shut off. When he looked at it, he found out the problem was in the control module.
