Default Auto 4wd system

Hi, I'm brand new on the forum, so I hope I'm doing this right. I have a 2000 Blazer LT with auto 4wd, (Well, it had 4wd last winter.)Would not go into 4wd, or auto 4wd. Actuator seems to be good. installed new transfer case motor, and the switch on the trans-axle. now, it's blowing the fuze every time, and it seems that the switch(?) ya know, that thing mounted on the back wall in the engine compartment, that has the vacuum hose that goes to the actuator, that thing seems to not work, but I can't find a proper name for it, so that I can get a replacement. So...is there a common reason to keep blowing fuzes? We tried to test the motor on the bench, to see if it worked, but, blew the test light in the process. And, someone help me put a name to that switch/sensor, whatever it is.
