My current steering wheel is starting to deteriorate, so the idea came up to get one of those sweet nascar style steering wheels that can pop off. How much would the parts cost? and what kind of installation is that?

 

i have seen those in autoparts stores, they would just scare me that they are going to pop off when driving. installation i probably no different then just swapping a steering wheel. gonna need a steering wheel puller at the very least to get your old one off

 

What about the airbag?

yeah, if your vehicle came with an airbag you need one...enforcement depends on where you live...better do your homework.

Ive thought about what i noticed on a rat rod. Guy took some stainless steel chain,welded each link together and chromed it. It was a awesome steering wheel. Kinda strange feeling though to get used too.
