Default Which Bilsteins HD or Sport?

I've done some searching here, but haven't found the answer to my question. My factory shocks are horrible, to be nice about them. I plan to change the front ones in the next couple of weeks to a set of Bilsteins, mostly because I don't know what should compare to them.

Original shocks are orange, I can't remember the brand name. I have the boat-ride syndrome right now, and I'm sure they're the problem.

My question is what to expect going from these to the Bilsteins listed? I know the Sport will be more firm than the HD, but will the HD be a lot more firm than the originals? So much so that the sport would be considered a harsh ride?

I would really appreciate input from someone that has experience with both styles of Bilstein, but am also open to input on comparable, lower priced shocks.

Unless you off-road regularly or do a lot of towing, for your truck I would choose the Bilstein HDs. Front - #24-187831 (old #F4-B46-1412-MO), rear - #33-187532 (old #F4-BE5-G942-HO).
My '02 came with Bilsteins and they are plenty firm.

That's good to hear. I would think I would be happy with a firm ride over the harsh ride of a sports car. I just really want control over the vehicle at highway speeds.

Anybody have input on the KYB MonoMax shocks? They are a little less costly, but do they compare to the Bilsteins?

I should've added this earlier. I have a '98 Blazer 4-door 4x4.

Yep, vehicle info always makes helping easier. I had to look at your earlier posts to get it.
