Which Bilsteins for my Blazer?
Hi everybody!
My front shocks (some **** made in France...) are totally worthless, and I need new ones, preferably some that actually last for a while and ABSORB rather than amplify...
After some online research, I've found that most people recommend Bilsteins, and I would like to try them out.
My problem is however that Bilstein US list two different shocks that fit my Blazer; part# 24-014120 and 24-187831. What's the difference between these two, and which do I choose? I really need some help with this.

KYB shocks I've founds are great. Mostly for imports but for our domestic rides they are very good, nice riding shocks.
J'espère que vous avez un grand temps ici et nous apprécier. (I hope you have a great time in here & enjoy us.)
Sorry, I'm french lol... well at least my last name is.

Thanks for your reply!
Would you recommend KYB Monomax or Gas-a-just for my Blazer? Are the Monomax shocks too stiff for regular driving?
I may just have to buy a pair of KYBs if I can't get any info on those Bilsteins.
Oh... and btw ... French technology is great!

I had the gas-a-just & they were a nice ride, firm but not too heavy. I'm not sure about the Monomax, try google & see what others have thought in customer feedbacks.
Hmmm French & technology in the same sentence - just seems odd to me lol.

In case anyone is interested, I got this reply from Bilstein Germany to my inquiry about the aforementioned shocks:
It seems the compression setting on the off-roads is a lot higher. Does anyone know which of these shocks will offer the best handling and/or most comfortable ride at different speeds on roads full of cracks, potholes and speed bumps?
We are offering 24-014120 for the mentioned car in our general catalogue and hold stock of it.
Bilstein US are selling 2 options – 24-014120 (2/3 of their sales) and 24-187831 (1/3 of their sales).
We do not keep stock of 24-187831.
Both are B46-1412 (= same dimensions), but different settings. 24-187831 is softer in compression and has a different curve in bump with lower rate at low speed
B6 Off Road are also for road use = B6.
For some applications Bilstein US offer softer settings taking into account the special US preferance of soft settings.
Settings at 0,52 m/s:
24-014120 2515/1220
24-187831 2445/775
We do not keep stock of the soft shock 24-187831 here. There is stock in the US.

Shocks & Tire recommendations 2003 Blazer LS 4X4
Do you believe that these are my best choice:
Bilstein/Shock/Strut - Front
Part Number: 24014120
Alternate Part Number: F4B461412H0
Bilstein/Shock/Strut - Rear
Part Number: 33187532
Alternate Part Number: F4BE5G942H0
2003 Blazer LS 4X4
I am going to by a set of AT tires as well (235/75/15) any recommendations (minimal off road use - mostly highway driving 80 miles per day)?
