yea that would work too but they don't make selectable ones for the front or rear for blazers. the only locker they make for the front diff is a lock rite and thats a full time locker.

What!? Damn, then I could just as well weld it, couldn't I...? Oh well, guess I won't be getting any lockers then. I already have the G80 gov-lock in the back, so I'll concentrate on bigger tires instead

you could weld your gears but that would be the same as getting an full time locker, you'd run into similar problems. I'd say just lift it and get some bigger tires that will be pretty off road worthy with the g80 and some bigger tires

heck no dont weld your rear axle. mines welded on my truck and its a offroad only truck. recently i drove it to a friends house about 1/2 mile away to store for a few weeks and no mater how wide you turn the rear tires hop and sequel. i leave just stock 215/75/15s on it when its not on the trail. they are just junk tires so wasnt worried about tearing them up but it was a nice day out today when i went to go bring it home and people give you dirty looks cause it sounds like youre doing a burnout everytime you turn and one guy told me to slow down when i wasnt even up to 5mph yet lol

I'm locked front and rear in my 2000 with the lockright up front and no-slip in the rear. I'm lifted 4" on 31's and it is a whole different vehicle offroad now. I redid all the front suspension stuff that wasn't changed out with the lift, new CV axles, pitman arms, etc before I was finished and a steering damper is on the way- you'll definitely want one for driving offroad. As far as the daily driver issues- its not a problem if you're not trying to crawl to work in 4Lo. I don't know how everybody here commutes but I stay in 2wd unless I'm offroad in a place that needs it.

That is actually a really good idea.. The lockright should be driveable on road. The only time I use 4wd on road is during winter, since the Blazer tends to get a bit skiddy with rwd.
