Default Can't figure out which Rear axle seals I need

Trying to get the wheel seals for my 2001 SLE jimmy.

Rockauto refers to codes c/k/etc that don't seem to correlate to the rpo or vin. Any advice?

Have you tried one of the online GM parts dealers where you can input your VIN to see what the part number would be? Even if they don't have them, you can use the GM part number to do a cross reference with the parts at Rock Auto and elsewhere. You could also call your local GM dealer to get the part numbers.

I had the same problem a couple years ago when replacing the rear bearings. Apparently there is supposed to be a "K" or a "C" stamped somewhere on the axle. I was unable to find the stamp so I went with K for my vehicle's country of origin.

The Rock Auto site seems to indicate that Canadian vehicles take K and the American vehicles take C. You should be able to figure our the size of your ring gear from the RPO codes.

Best to measure the seal bore and axle diameter with dial calipers, or clean the seals and get the numbers.

I refuse to install Chinese seals, years of experience = cheap rubber. Get US made seals even if you have to order cheap China, measure them and then buy real seals.

INstallation trick, if its an old axle, itll be worn where the seal lips contacted it, press the new seals in about 0.060" wider than the old so the seal lips 'ride' on a clean undamaged axle surface.
