Default Caster all out of Whack???

Hi,

I have been reading this forum since I got my hands on a '89 S10 2.8 4x4(168K mi) back in November and you guys have provided me with the knowledge to do a lot of work on my truck since then. Kudos to this site.

I have a question regarding the wheel/tire position in the wheel well. My drivers front tire is not centered in the wheel well, its about an inch difference (less room toward the rear) and its causing the tire to rub on the fender liner when turning left. The tire itself is not wearing unevenly, and there is no issues with wandering on the highway. I recently replaced the shocks (Edelbrock IAS) and will be doing the ball joints in the coming weeks. When I replaced the shocks I was poking around looking for something bent, but the control arms look straight as does the frame.

The tires are not very oversized, BFg 235/75 15's.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Mike

It definitely sounds like something is tweaked. It shouldn't be anywhere near rubbing with stock sized tires. An alignment shop should be able to tell you what is causing it.
