Clicking sounds from front left wheel
Been driving for 3 hours at about 100-120km/h. Came off the highway to hear a fast paced clicking noise from my left front tire. Sounds like when you put a playing card in a bicycle wheel. Took it to a shop and they said it could be the axle itself or the steering rack. The noise stopped a little while after. Any idea what it could be? CV axle or transfer case issue. It’s an 05 Jimmy with a 2.5” lift, stock CV axles
Have you looked under your truck?
im also having cv axles issues, although my situation is a little different than yours.
It’s crazy but my cv axles aren’t leaking any grease, and they look perfect, until I lift the truck on a car lift and start to move the cv axles by hand… they are loose.
I know I’m very late to reply, but my cv axle joints are loose on mine. It doesn’t make any noise, but when I reach 65mph the truck starts to vibrate and shake badly. It drives great though.
About to get my cv axles replaced this week.
Im pretty sure the clicking sound you are hearing is from your cv axle. Always gotta replace both cv axles as a pair, because if one is failing or have failed, the other one is also getting easy to fail, as both cv axles spin together and work together.
