hey all,
another small issue for you guys, i noticed when i bought my blazer a few weeks ago that it clunks when i make tight corners, usually just one noticeable clunk each time you turn tight. im not sure if it does it both left and right but for sure does it when i turn tight to the left. since ive bought it i had all 4 ball joints done, pitman arm, idler arm, and new hubs up front. i also know that the guy before me had just replaced the sway bar links. which i can confirm because i looked.
what could this be?
thanks

usually a CV joint in a bind from a tight turn or failing makes a constant rattle all the time its bound in the turn not just one thump - I would check the worm gear mounting bolts, A arm bushings and mounting points of the A arms, check for shiny spots around mounting points for body, radiator support ect. shiny spot means movement - check around worm gear mounting point on the frame and other mount points for cracks, look it over for anything that looks abnormal

hylander6361: my '02 does the samething...I hear one pop usually when backing-out of a parking spot and in a tight turn. I have replaced both CV axles and still does it. I have yet to determine what the cause is.
If you find something let me know and I will do the same.

Aftermarket balljoints usually require drilling out OEM rivits and replacing with hardened bolts, nuts. Bolt diameter may be smaller than drilled rivet hole and could allow the ball joint mount to slip or clunk where it attaches to the control arm
