And i was wondering what type of 5 spd. transmission the 1st gen s10 blazers have?

First gens got the 207, 231, and 233. I can't recall if the 231 ever had a cable driven speedo or not but I know all the first gens with a 207 had it.
I'm pretty sure I remember the 231 in s-series never had the cable speedo but there was one in a dodge that did. Not sure if it was for a SAS or what cause I look at all kinds of crazy stuff and pick bits up here and there.

Ny 84 Jimmy with a 207 has a speedo cable.

Yeah my 87 does too. I think GM lists 89 as the last year for the 207 and thats about the time they swapped to the electric speedos and started using the 231 as the base t-case.

So if i swap a 207c for a 231c I wouldnt be able to have a speedo? Is there a way to make the speedo cable work for my truck?
(The 231c is from a 91' s10 blazer(auto) and the 207c is from an 87' s10 blazer(manual))

I'm not sure if you can put the output shaft and tail case of a 207 in/on a 231.
