In 2x4 right? I haven't found many issues on 4x4, and come to think of it OP never posted what setup he has.... I just pictured 4x4...smh lol

 

Yeah it's 4x4. I'm pretty certain it's the bearing. It's gotten progressively louder and now changes pitch when turning. Still feels right though which seems strange to me

 

hah! How about that....even after just checking for play. GREAT that you may have found the issue though!

 

try the sweeping test I suggested
You can usually find it that way before you find play in the bearing

 

+1^ Rex .... you were right.... I'm quite surprised. My DD and mobile garage is a 4x4 and have only done bearings once in the 15 yrs I've owned it. I also have 2 4x2's and have had to do bearings once every 4 yrs or so, I would guess. Along with just the experience of working in the shop, it's mostly been the 4x2 needing the bearings...lol

+1^ Rex ...Yes, and I agree with that road test, it's great for the front bearings at least.....- in my experiences - just not the rears

 

I'm second guessing myself now, did the old swerve test again and it changes pitch in either direction. I'll probably end up throwing the hubs eventually. Just don't have the funds right now, everything seems to be breaking on me left and right
