Default CV axel leak on 98 blazer

I have a leak near the drivers side of cv inner shaft. In the area where the flange is. Axel and boots seam fine but a leak in the area fur sure. Couple of questions? Are all 1998 Blazer drivers side CV axels bolted on? My other question is There seems to be a leak behind the flange where the inner part of the shaft goes in. I am thinking it my be a seal but not sure? Can anyone tell me what is in the area that needs to be replaced. Thanks.

Well I went to the dealer and told the parts guy what I needed so, here is what I got. It is supposed to be a CV half shaft seal. Part # is ACD#291-315 He told me the left and right are the same part#. Hopefully I got the correct seal. Guess I will find out when I tull the axel out on friday. If any one has done this please reply if you know the part number to the seal. I hope I am I am on the right track. Thanks Has anyone done a seal before?

The seal that lives where the cv shaft plugs into the front diff case on a 98 Blazer is GM PART # 12471586.

AC Delco PN 291-315 cross references to GM PN 12471686. But this PN comes up as a rear axle wheel seal for the 8.5/8.625 rear ends...
