Default Detroit TrueTrac or Detroit locker?

So upon discovering that my zr2 has a standard open diff in the rear, I am in the market for a good LSD or locker. I'm looking for one that will be good for a daily driver, but yet hold it's own on the trails and snow/ice on the ground 5 months out of the year. So which one will be better? Anyone had any experience with either? And do they really chew up tires that bad?

If you are going on snow/ice, just stick with the TrueTrac. The only reason you would pick a locker over that is if you are planning on trying to drive with one wheel off the ground while off roading. The only thing that really chews up tires while turning is a spool.
