My issue is I am doing a 2.5 lift and needed to cut the top Diff bolt plate for the new one And the CV axle is seized in In order to move on the Axel has to come out and drain the fluid Also a chance i might what to remove a clip inside the Diff case and replace it with a ring that prevents it from rubbing on the inside of the case like this clip is known for doing to the point is makes a hole. Knowing which diff it is helps me make my order for axles and ring etc etc

This might sound dumb, however I don't think it is.................PHONE GM. I did a few years ago, gave my VIN code and the helpful lady told me freakin' EVERYTHING. Whether (<-- see, I spelled this word correctlee) my ZR2 was actually a ZR2; my axle ratio, options, etc. etc. , even the damn name of the blue paint and it's Fisher code!
Wasn't a parts counter number but a main GM number.
