Driveshaft Length
I have a '95 Jimmy 2 Door 4WD. Rear drive shaft u joint was damaged. Went to pull another one and pulled it from a 2000 Jimmy 4 Door 4WD, but the drive shaft was too long. My transmission is a long tail 4L60E. Not sure what type of tail was on the 2000 Jimmy transmission (more than likely short tail)...Any who, going out there today to find another one, and I want the right fit. Which GM vehicles have the same size driveshaft as my '95 2 door Jimmy?...or is it just as simple as finding a long tail 4L60E and pulling the drive shaft from it?

Because the 4 door body is longer than a 2 door... So I should pull it from a S10 with a long tail 4L60E?

Lmao a tape measure! I don't have one, should I just bring the one I took out and line it up with what I'm pulling?

Ok I have to ask, why are you changing the entire driveshaft for a bad u-joint? The u-joint is replaceable, however the factory one are glued in and you need to heat the ears with a torch to burn the glue out and remove them.

I don't own a torch

but you might just get another driveshaft with a worn out joint or a joint that will fail soon. Most shops will not charge much to swap the joint real quick if you bring them the driveshaft. If I were you, i would call around and ask.
A few years back I have to have my jeep driveshafts rebuilt which have complicated double cardan joints in them and the shop charged me $50.
