A suspension lift adds stress to all 4 CV joints, all 4 ball joints, both torsion bars and both inner tie rod ends. With the added stress, you'll be replacing those parts more often than necessary. A body lift does not affect suspension parts and kits are available for several different amounts of lift.

You can get a 2' lift at max from cranking the torsion bars upfront and putting shackles in the rear. Also on top of that you can add a 2" body lift. But other than that you would have to purchase an actual 5-6" kit.

If you increase front chassis ride height, (T bar crank), above factory specs, wheel alignment can be adjusted back within factory specs to keep tire wear at a minumum, but the added stress on the suspension parts mentioned above, will wear out, (or break), sooner. As for lifting the rear with shackles, provided pinion angle is corrected, you should be fine. All things considered, not a wise move. But hey, it's your truck and your money.
