Feeling every bump in the road - help!
all stock '99 blazer 4x4 with 65k miles.
i feel every single bump in the road, very annoying. if i hit a decent size pot hole the car wants to go into every direction, i have to correct it.
i've replaced front shocks, should i replace the rears?

If the rear shocks are shot, then they should be replaced... Kind of common sense.
I would never replace just one set of shocks. I always replace them all.
What shocks did you go with up front? Are they too stiff for you? Do you still feel the bumps up front or just from the back?

Check you upper a frame bushings. I had the same problem and it was because my a frame bushings were shot. Also check out your ball joints and pump some more grease into them. Check your sway bar link bushings also. It sounds like the upper a frame bushing though. They are like 6 bucks a piece at autozone but somewhat of a pain to put in. Also is your truck aligned?

This the the upper a frame. The bottom left and bottom right before the bolts are the bushings. You need a press machine to press the bushings in. You can tell if there bad if the black bushing is expanded and larger than the housing its in.

from what you're saying about the truck going all over the road when you hit a good size pot hole (which are quite abundant in TO), i'd say pitman and/or idler. but that wouldn't constitute a harsh ride.
this is the problem with an issue like yours. even though you may be describing it as best as you can, and feel it is being described aptly, you may be missing it completely. i'm not putting you down or anything brothe, i simply mention this since you didn't know what he meant by upper A-frame.
where in Toronto are you located Tinted? Toronto covers quite alot of area, but i'm not that far from TO (about 20 minutes up the 400).
send me a pm if you wish, maybe you could take me for a ride so i could get a feel for the problem, since everything is now closed 'til Tuesday morning. (i'm gonna be down that way beginning of the week)
if not, have you tried taking it to a shop for a professional opinion? it doesn't cost you anything to have someone give you an estimate (other than your time). you can always discuss their opinion of the problem here on the forum after, then go ahead and fix it yourself.

pitman and idler arm I did forget about. That could have something to do with it like everyone else is saying I agree. If you could I would have someone look at it. Call around or meet up with old skool luvr, I'm sure someone will look at it and give you a for sure answer.
