Flying Grease

Flying Grease
I recently picked up my first Blazer. 1998 4x4 LT. During the process of replacing the front shocks, I noticed grease splatters around the area of the drivers side front axle. I cleaned all the grease, finished the shocks and took the rig out on a 30 mile drive. No unusual drive noises and the 4x4 engages and dissengages just fine. Upon return, I crawled under the rig and saw a small amount of grease had been slung around the area around the inboard joint closest to the case. The outer joint and boot were clean/dry. You can visually see a ring of grease around that inboard joint. Any ideas what I'm looking at and ease or difficulty of repair?

I think they have CV boots you can buy and just replace the boot. I am not sure how involved it is to do that though. I would do it soon though, keep losing grease inside there, then you will have problems with your cv axle.

I just did the RC 2.5" lift and the same thing is happening, My tortion keys are cranked and figured that was the reason it was spitting grease, cause it put the cv shaft on a decent angle. So after you replaced the half shaft, are your keys cranked or no.
