Default G80 help?

so i was looking into getting a G80 for my blazer, and have a few questions about it. if i were to look for one in a junkyard how would i know what trucks have it? how hard are they to take out and install? would it fit into my blazer? any help would be awesome

Look for "G80" in the glovebox....

But if its just the axle, Idk...

Axles are not for the average DIY'er. There have extremely critical tolerances, and require special tools.

IF you want the G80, swap the whole axle, and yes look for the code in the glovebox. Although you would be money ahead by installing a Lock-Right, or other off the shelf locker.

I have to agree, if you are going G80 do a complete rear swap unless you know how to set up the rear gears. But, the the Lock right install is easier. You dont have to reset up the gears. http://www.offroaders.com/tech/lock-right-locker.htm

what if i were to just get it from a junkyard and have someone else put it in for me?
