as far as the install goes, I have seen at least one with pics around here, but dont have the link off hand...

When going used I assume that at 100 bills you mean junk yard....
my suggestions are when you pop the diff cover there shouldn't be any juice in it (at most junkyards) but there will be residule. check it for color (burnt, dirty) and sediment (read as: metal shards from the gears). You also want to avoid any that may have been filled with sawdust (stops the leak AND the sound!) or has a lot of crap in it (sand, grit).

from there check out the loot! how do the gears themselves look? are they square, edged and gear like? Good, get to the pullin'!
Are they chipped, worn, rounded, or beveled? Any burrs and spurrs? Move to the next potential victim....

Once you have them freen hold them up like the monkey in the lion king to let the sun shine on their glorious freedom! Use this opportunity (after wiping them down a bit) to hut for hairline or stress fractures and any of the above mentioned defects...

If it's a clear then you are in business son!

Also the Eaton GovLock was discontinued in '87 (or '89) so just get yourself the newer (read as: updated/fixed) G80 rear locking diff guts. Also the newer the better (less miles = less damage)

Thats a good price. I have a G80 in my Sonoma and am very happy with it. It will get torque tested this coming summer.
