help for a begginer plz
i have a 94 full size blazer.it has a4inch rcx lift kit on it i recently had to have a repair to fix a leaky drive shaft mechanic has informed me this will be a ongoing problem unlees i undo the lift.i am thinking there has to be some kind of modification i can do to rear end position or drive shaft or maybe both ,.any help would be greatly appreciated thanx.
It may be the slip yoke bearing is worn, causing excess movement in the slip yoke, and wearing the seal. Another option is a slip yoke eliminator. Check out JB Conversions to see what I mean. I run a 10" lift and still have the factory seal in my blazer.
you have a slip yolk? does yours leak? i got two lifted trucks, k30 with 3-4 inches of lift then the s10 with about 9. both rear output seals leak, have always leaked, been replaced, have changed driveshafts still leak. i just accept the fact that they are just going to leak and have carpet squares on the ground in the garage
I still have a slip yoke in my Blazer, and it doesn't leak. It's only a NP233, but was running with a 5" lift for 10 years, and a 10" lift for over a year. My '03 GMC had an NP246 transfer case(slip yoke) and a 6" lift with no leaks.
I have the SYE for the Blazer, but the slight vibration I had has disappeared so the SYE sits in the shelf until I get motivated, or have issues with the slip yoke.
I went looking for a link for the bearing in the tail housing, and as nearly as I can tell there either is no bearing, or it's not a replacement item.
