Default How to drop my drivetrain?

2003 Blazer, 2wd, Automatic.....I need to replace a very bad transmission mount and it looks like I need to remove the drive train. I tried to just jack up the transmission, but it would no go high enough to clear the hold down bolt.

I guess I need to drop the drivetrain, but was wondering if it is something I can do myself, with limited tools. I have a small 2ton jack and jack stands and a good variety of wrenches/sockets

Is this what I need to get the job done and is it really necessary?

Anything else I should check for while I am under there?

Many thanks in advance..

UDATE: Sorry I think I should have said DRIVESHAFT......I am about a good as a mechanic as I am a computer wizard. Not At All.
