Good Day! I recently found a 97 jimmy to replace my 96 jimmy that had over 250K on it.
As all parts(save the gas tank and ABS) are identical, all the recently upgraded components are being transferred to the 97.
When I first drove it(at low speeds) no problems were evident, until I drove it home at 55-60 mph; a severe lateral roll occurrs when traversing pavement irregularities. OK I thought,no problem,it needs a link kit,it did indeed.
However it did not solve the problem!
Ball joints have only 25K on them (documented) and the unit other wise steers and rides fine. Any ideas?

How many miles are on the 97 that has the issues? I would check for any broken or severely worn suspension parts.

The 97 has 140K on it and while I was going to do the ball joint/tie rod/hub test yesterday,it was raining. Will do so today;however the symptoms resemble what
I can relate as driving a vehicle with the shocks removed. Again,on smooth even
roadway and at low speeds (< 40 mph) the unit steers and rides fine!
