maybe you guys could help me out.
Im trying to remove my pitman arm off an 1992 chevy s10 blazer . I took the little hex nut off from the arm that turns the wheels but i cant remove the nut from the steering box. My dad doesn't have the wrench that size so i need to go buy one . I think the nut size is 7/8 - 14 but how can i find out the wrench size?
after you get that nut off your are also going to need a pitman arm puller, that arm is pressed on. you can try using a crescent wrench to get that nut off. sometimes it isnt on insanely tight. sometimes it is though
Your 4x4 right I think you have to take the steering box completely off the vehicle to use the puller , If its anything like my 94 anyway . And then you can use a socket to get the nut off , thats how I did mine .
I don't think that's worth a hundred bucks... I just pulled the steering box, used an adjustable wrench on the nut, then the puller and once the steering box was out it took all of 3 minutes. To remove the steering box just pull the three bolts from the frame and undo the two power steering hoses from the top of the box. (hardest part due to lack of work space) Good luck on getting you truck back together. Hope all goes smooth.
