Milk in my Pwr Steering
Hi All
First post here... last week I bought a nice 1992 1500 Blazer. Had all the fluid changed (flush/filled). Power steering was like milk but it had been sitting for several months so I thought maybe some condensation had mixed with the fluid.
After 48 hours the fluid is almost as milky as before. Since the system is a closed loop... how is water getting in? This is my first blazer so I wondered if this was perhaps a model issue?
Thanks in advance!

Place cardboard under the front of the truck, mark where the tires rest so it's easier to trace & check in the morning. You have a leak somewhere my friend. Water is getting in from a loose fitting or something is cracked, maybe the cap.

My guess is the previous owner tried some deep water crossing(s) and submerged the reservior. Its a pretty hard system to completely flush on just one go. I'd flush it again and keep an eye on it. Keep flushing until the "milk" is gone.

Actually, it may not be water at all, but air. If the system is not properly bled out, it can foam.
