moog makes a couple different ball joints. any significant difference in these other than the price?
1995-2005 Chevrolet Blazer - Moog "front Suspension Upper" Ball Joint
Part Number: MOK5320
price: $80-90
1995-2005 Chevrolet Blazer - Moog "front Suspension Upper" Ball Joint
Part Number: MOK5208
price: $35-45
1997-2005 Chevrolet Blazer - Moog "front Suspension Lower" Ball Joint
Part Number: MOK5335
price: $75-85
1995-2004 Chevrolet Blazer - Moog "front Suspension Lower" Ball Joint
Part Number: MOK6145T

also...any comments on the generic ones seen on ebay? ive seen some where you get 2 upper 2 lower, and they even throw in some inner and outter tie rod ends for $75 bucks...lol
i also noticed that some are bolt on and some are pressed... i thought all 4x4s are bolt on replacement...

RE: moog ball joints
I just put some Moogs on my truck last July. I got them from www.rockauto.com, which is where I get most of my parts. One great thing about them is that they also sell a lot of AC Delco parts on the cheap.
I personally would not buy these off Ebay. You want to be sure they`re the real thing, as they are a crucial component to your suspension system that you DO NOT want to break when you`re driving at highway speed (as I learned the hard way)!
After selecting the make/model/year of your truck on RA`s catalog, only the parts that fit will pop up. Just be aware that if the ball joints have never been replaced before, they may need to be drilled out. For this reason, I did not attempt to do it myself and instead hired a professional. You may feel differently. Good luck.

RE: moog ball joints
thanks for pointing me to rockauto.com(great site)... i also like AUTOPARTSWAREHOUSE.COM.
yeah im definitely iffy about the generics on ebay, i would definitely like to go moog or acdelco.your right though rockauto.com carries alot of ac delco parts.
im not too concerned with drilling out rivets, as much as i am not having the specialty tools (removers/installers/seperators)
(J9519-D) and (J23742) and air hammer/chisel etc...which im trying to see if i can borrow from someone or rent from my local autoparts.
has anyone ever attempted to do this without the specialty tools?

Funny you ask... I was just at the parts house t'day and the fella at the counter explained the difference to me. One has a brass bushing and the other has a plastic bushing. Guess which one is the brass...

You can borrow the ball joint press from Auto Zone for a deposit and get it all back on return. The press is needed for the lower ball joint (An Impact Gun is needed). Upper ball joints are easy once the rivets have been drilled out, as the replacement is bolt on.
