Default TRW or Moog Ball Joints

My 99 Jimmy 4x4needs upper and lower ball joints and the grease is coming out of the inner boots on thefront axle shafts so those will also be replaced.
What are the best ball joints, TRW or Moog?and are there any ball joint upgrades or better than stockboots to be had for this application?
Im not understanding why the grease is coming out of the boots, they look fine but I can see wherethe grease iscoming from at the wide end of the boot. They aren't torn or banged up, they look fine except for the grease coming out.
Why wouldn't a regular worm type hose clamp workon these boots?

Thanks for your time.

If you have the extra cash, go with MOOG. They are built more heavy duty. Don't get me wrong, TRW is a great brand. There are times when MOOG is twice the price of TRW. But if they are only a bit more, I would do it.

I've had TRW, & Moog.
Moog are better, but this is better yet.

Also, you can use a simple hose clamp on your cv boots Napa carries thin S.S. ones that will work just fine.

another nod for power performance, their joints are burley. im in the process of completely replacing all the front end joints including the idler and pitman arms on our 98 jimmy. the fact that they sell a complete front end kit is awesome!

Both are made by Federal Mogul and are decent parts. Moog is their higher end brand. I work for one of the larger Auto Parts retailers in the country and due to overwhelming requests from our commercial customerswe have been converting much of our TRW inventory over to Moog. They say they dont have near as many long term problems out of Moog which means they dont loose money switching parts twice.
