Default Need some help with my transfer case

I have a 95 4door 4wd blazer. I am in the process of putting a v8 in it. When I pulled the motor/trans/transfer case, I took the big nut on the bottom of the transfer case off to drain the fluid and a spring and a ball fell out.
Now I need to know how it goes back in. Does the ball or the spring go in first? My guess would be the ball, but I just wanna make sure.
Thanks

I'm assuming you have a NV 233 with electronic shift.

Here is the exploded view of the transfer case. I think you are talking about items 68-71.
