Default noise from front end

there is a noise coming from the front end. the guy i bought it from said i need to replace the bearing on the passengers side and that is what was making the noise. but with the car in 4x4 it isnt that loud and but when you put in 2 wheel drive it gets very noticably louder. and it clunks in both 4x4 and two wheel drive. so i was told by another friend it might be the cv joint not the bearing. any opinions? thanks

what kind of noise are you gitting?
does it clunk when you switch into 4wheel and in to 2wheel or all the time?

Does the noise get louder when you turn while in 2wd? If it does then it most likely is ur bearings.
