Default PLEASE HELP!!! destroyed front differential 1999 blazer

Hi, This is my first post and last hope for this vehicle.

I have a 1999 4x4 blazer and the front differential is gone... don't want to replace the whole front end because I'm not sure how long the rest of the vehilcle will last. I'd REALLY like to just disengage or remove the whole front drive shaft or differential (or whatever it is that I need to remove) in order to keep the vehicle going for another year or so in 2-wheel-drive mode.

Is it possible to just remove/disengage the front wheel drive parts and have it behave like a 2-wheel-drive model? We've started a new business and don't think we can affort to get something else right now, so I'm trying to keep this going as long as I can. Thanks for the help!!!

Tim

Honestly the best fix i can think of is to just find a front diff from a scrap yard somewhere instead of riggin it up for 2 wheelin.

Check with somebody but I think you could pull the front drive shaft. Do you have half axles in the front? If so you could just pull those as well.
