Default power steering pump help

Im not sure if this is the right place or not (mods move if necessary)

I have a 1993 tahoe blazer with the 4.3/auto tranny. I would like to pull the pump to replace a freeze plug, but I cant for the life of me figure out how to remove the power steering pump. It looks like I might have to remove the pully???

And do I HAVE to remove the heads to replace the valve guide seals? What tools would I need?

Any input is greatly appreciated

Default Get the tool!

You have to take the pulley off to get it out of the way... You must have this - there is no other way. Autozone and advance rent them!

You can replace the valve seals on the engine.

You'll need a valve spring compressor and air hold kit, available from JC Whitney (among other places):

http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/P...ing+compressor

Scroll down and there will be two things listed, 362389 and 362388 - that's what you need. Jegs and Summit have both tools, as well.

See post #2 - If that is too much for you, take it to a shop.

Yep, a power steering pulley removal tool is required.
