Default Power steering pump pulley removal

1994 Chevy Blazer 4.3 liter V 6 Vortex.

The high pressure hose is shot and I need to pull off the pulley to get at the hose. I have read the post regarding this and is there a bolt on the front of the shaft going though the pulley to the pump. I am confused. The thread says that there is no bolt and the pulley puller will pull off the pulley. I am looking and there is a hex wrench type hole in the front of the shaft, and I tried to remove it, but it won't budge. Can you please confirm that there is no bolt to remove BEFORE adding the pulley removal tool.

Thank you,

Frank

most are pressed on - and as you prob know it takes a special puller - a typical gear pulled with the arms won't work

Default Power Steering Pump Pulley removal

I thought so. I bought the pulley removal / install tool from Harbor Freight for $20 bucks and it worked like a charm, not that removing it wasn't a nightmare. It took me awhile, but I got the pulley off. Once I had the pulley off, I removed the the bolts holding the pump and was able to remove it and take off the old high pressure hose for the pump. I installed the new hose and re-installed the pump back in, then I used the tool to install the pulley, making sure it was flush to the power steering pump shaft. I put everything back together and installed a new belt.
