Default Question about steering! Help please!

Okay. I tried to change my ball joints to no avail so i just purchased new lower control arms. Changing shocks and springs while im down there. Well, my outter tie rods look good. Rock tire side to side, had about an inch worth of place from center to one side. Question is, my tie rod ends dnt rock, the entire assembly, from one wheel to the other, rocks. Any ideas? Thats with one tire up, one om the ground.... Thanks!!

Default Steering linkage has play.

I am a ASE certified Tech and I do steering and suspension work everyday at the shop where I work. If the outter tie rod ends are tight and you still have play then most likely it is yor iddler arm, center link or pittman arm if not all of the above. I will give you some good advice also, if you are off road any at all or have oversized tires when you buy the parts DO NOT get cheap parts. They will have a "lifetime warranty" but it will not cover the labor at the shop where you have it repaired. If you want to fix it and not have to worry about it anymore buy MOOG parts and you will not have any problems. They are the best when it comes to steering and suspension parts.
