Default Rear axle identification

I have a street rod that I was told has an early S10 Blazer rear axle. The diff needs some work and before I can do this I need to know model and year of the axle. Can anyone tell me what to look for? are there numbers and where are they to assist with the identifacation?

sometimes there are numbers on the actual ring gear in the diff you can go off. some axles have a tag on one of the differential bolts but not always

you can check out this link and see if it helps
