Default Replacing Shocks

Truck just rolled 200,000 and its getting ready for its tune-up. While compiling the list, which I have posted here before, I threw in replacing the shocks all around. Now I know that Kyle recommends the Monroe shocks, and I remember lennyblazer recommending his Edelbrock shocks. I'm thinking about some Fox shocks because I have a friend who drives a diesel and he has Fox shocks mounted in his truck. My basic question here is, is any shock compatible with a 1994 GMC S15 Jimmy? Fox doesn't offer an OE Replacement for my truck and so I was wondering if we could just do something different.
