Default Rubber disc - steering shaft coupling ('88 Blazer)

Hey there, have got a quick question guys. I'm now in process of repairing the steering in my dad's 1988 Blazer, and have got a quick question, guys. There is a rubber thing, like a rubber disc, between the U-joints at the axle. In his case, it wore out and seems like because of its failure there appears a kind of vibration. So I was wondering, whether we have to order this piece from the dealer or we may just cut it out from some rubber by ourselves... What will you say?...
PS - I am still not sure on how to make the truck work, so maybe we'll have to take it to the shop....

The rubber disk in the steering shaft that runs from the steering column to the steering gear box is commonly called the rag joint. They are available at pretty much any autoparts store and are fairly cheap. I wouldn't waste my time trying to make my own, but that's just me.

Aha, thanks, man. I guess I just googled for something wrong. Thanks for providing its name, sure will order one. Because my dad went mad when heard that dealership wanted around $100 for the rubber...

Update - ordered one, they listed it in the steering coupling section (https://www.carid.com/steering-couplings/), and the OE# for this piece would be 000941.
