They recommend top coat to prevent sun fading the color. I painted it on some surface rust on the floor pan under the carpet and used the leftover on my front tow hooks to see how it does. The color was gloss black. 2 years later I lifted up the carpet and it was still gloss black and perfect. The tow hooks faded from gloss black to a flat black but the rust has completely stopped.
Hey guys, quick update on the diff plug. Thanks to you all for your advice, I got it. Took the chisel to it and it turned out to be deeper than I thought. Cleared all the crap out, got a quality 3/8 ext and out she came. Good thing too, it was almost a quart low. Drained front diff which came out a super dark grey with just a little froth. Only topped off the rear till I get a gasket but already shifting smoother and 4hi & 4lo work perfectly. Thanks again! Now back to the rust...
