Service 4wd light

Service 4wd light
i have an 01 chevy blazer 4dr. the service 4wd light is on, and the t-case indicator lights (2hi, 4hi, 4lo, 4auto, neutral) are not illuminated. im getting a lot of drag from the front end (feels like its in 4wd), and getting a vibration when turning corners (forward or backward). i just got ripped off at a shop to have them do the brakes, both front hubs, and sway bar connecting rods and bushings. i just cleaned up the connections to the tccm and it didnt fix the problem. any ideas?

Take to say it but you probably need to visit the friendly neighborhood Chevrolet dealership. they can hook up to your computer and get the 4WD codes and at least then you can proceed to get to fix the problem

Check your transfer case fluid level and condition. Check all of your fuses.
You can test the switch in the dash with a multimeter. Search for NV236 and you should find THIS POST which details the resistance values you should see at the switch. It also has some links to other articles explaining the operation of the NV236/NV246 transfer cases.

i think it might be the tccm. i checked around on some sites and found a quick fix. but it still wont go into 4 lo. but at least it goes into 2hi and 4 hi. anyway, here is the cheep quick fix.
1) clear the codes on the tccm (i did it at an auto shop)/ reset tccm
2) pull the 4wd fuse
3) wait no less than 1/2 hour, after that replace 4wd fuse
4) turn the key to run position (but dont start the motor), let the 4wd lights blink, then turn key off position
5) repeat step #4 5 more times, then start engine
the 4wd service light might stay on until you start the vehicle 2 more times like mine did, but when i was done with the steps, i just drove it home.
